Birthday Balloons in the Round

Birthday Balloons in the Round
© 2012
available as a greeting card in my Artfire shop through this link
(it also might be available in my Etsy shop)
copyright watermarks will not appear in the actual cards

Fresh off the press!

This is a bit of a departure for me as it isn't very Celtic or Renaissance or fantasy-like or even as elaborate as I tend to get. But I was up last night and wanted to do a project and I've been making a lot of designs in the round, so I thought I'd try a birthday one too.

I had a lot of fun with this one!

Robin in Spring

Robin in Spring
© 2012
available in my Artfire shop year round
or in season in my Etsy shop
(mostly colored pencils, ink and watercolors)

I am woefully behind on listing my newest art! I actually made this design a month and it has been in a number of brick and mortar stores as greeting cards since the day after St. Patrick's Day.

Better late than never. As usual, the design was an excuse to make some more Celtic style borders (with other woodland themes, of course!).

Not sure if this is appropriate for Easter or not. Would you use it for Easter or is the bunny a must?

Meet Babs of Croweshea!

Cotton Crochet Scarf with lime green, turquoise and yellow
by Babs of Croweshea (on Etsy)
this scarf is available HERE

Isn't this a fun way to display a scarf? Every time I see Babs avatar or her pictures flashing through my circles on Etsy, I giggle! I don't think anyone on Etsy is doing this, so it is inventive indeed!

Babs learned how to create crochet fashions from her Mom at an early age. You can see the rest of Babs's store HERE.

Here are some more of Bab's creations with her signature bear:

Bunny and Gate with Moon

Bunny and Gate with Moon
© 2012
available at my Artfire and Etsy shops

Newest design!

After doing blogposts about bunnies (and drawing "Bunny and Moon"), I became drawn to the subject again when I did this artwork.

The difference now is that I did some research and found that rabbits and the moon are a symbol world-wide for lunar cycles, feminity and fertility! How cool is it that so many different time periods and cultures associated the rabbit and the moon with the same meaning?

I don't know why I am so drawn to the subject now. Perhaps this is a time when I need to focus my attention on my own femininity and lunar cycles and my subconscious is telling me that? Who knows!

Anyway, for the first time on this blog, I am showing some in-progress photos:
