New Show with Marina Petro at Valley Artisans Market in Cambridge, NY

Like a lot of people I gave up on my art blog for awhile. Most people have gone on to Instagram (I set up an account one day to travel over there too, and then forgot my password - such as it is ... at the time I could only upload from my phone, and I didn't have anything to upload from my phone, so time went by and it's easy to forget a password). I'm not all that convinced that I need to be on Instagram. Isn't Twitter, Facebook and several blogs enough?

As most of you know, I quit Etsy pretty far back now, and Artfire went out of business during the pandemic. So I started a site on Fine Art America, and then my own site (LiseWinne.net) which sells all of the same quality art prints and products as Fine Art America. You can still buy original artwork by contacting me from that site - if it hasn't sold already. 

And I've made a lot of new art for my site. But I'm having trouble uploading my newest pieces, and there are a lot of them, so I decided to have an art show until I can figure it all out.

Oh, the trials of being online: forgotten passwords, inability to upload, glitches with computers, sites down, art that never looks as good on-line as in person, e-mails that get lost or aren't taken the right way ... maybe people should just be meeting face-to-face, and keeping small businesses alive so that not every town looks boarded up. 

So here are some art pieces that we'll be showing, and also some promotional posters:

If you have been reading along, you know that Marina Petro and I have a show at Valley Artisans Market in Cambridge, NY. These are some of the pictures that a fellow artist, Viola Peggy Gray, took of us with our work. 

The show is up until October 24, 2017 (the gallery is open from 10 - 5 every day except Monday).

This is a nice opportunity to see my pieces together as I tend to scatter them one piece at a time around to local galleries afterward. It is also a nice opportunity to see Marina's work together before she puts them for sale on-line. There is nothing like seeing originals up close!

Why with Marina Petro? I have know Marina since I was 20 years old. Marina and I share a passion for the spiritual in our work. Marina is a clairvoyant, an ultra empath and what I would term as highly evolved, a type of person the world needs more of. She is also a very talented artist, as many people who are moved towards the spirit, and of awareness, tend to be. She has several different styles including her angel and spiritual work, her bold and bright in the zone series and her very popular still life series. To see more of her styles, go HERE.

In many ways our interests run parallel as well, in that I also enjoy making still lifes called the bouquet series (which also includes food, although mine is in photography) and bold abstract work as well (with my signature doves: note -- I am still uploading pieces, but it gives you an idea).

I like to think that we are kindred spirits in art.

Etsygreetings

This is a teaser from a part of a watercolor painting I am working on.

Anyway, my main reason for posting is that I am now a part of the Etsy Greetings team. Have a look at the team's blog here. I am excited to be part of this on-line community.

I thought it would be a good idea to be part of the greetings team since I am presently mostly selling greeting cards (and other small items) in my Etsy shop. I will probably branch out at some point to sell prints, smaller originals and small pottery items too (as my time permits) in this little on-line shop.

Of course, this means that I probably won't be selling my larger more ambitious works on-line (I do prefer to show the larger work in a gallery space with flattering lights where clients can see the work and workmanship with their own eyes; i.e. not via photos, scanning and a monitor).

One of the brick and mortar shops I am in (Valley Artisans of Cambridge, NY) has two other Etsy artists, Pulpart and Katrina Marie Designs. Pulpart is also part of the Etsy Greetings team. Katrina Marie has made costumes for the Renaissance faire community. So, I have quite a bit in common with these two artists.

Martha (of Pulpart) makes hand made paper, handmade paper cards, paper sculptures and tags. What you won’t see in her Etsy shop is her whimsical “leaf people”, a collage of leaves on paper depicting figures in various poses. Martha also makes jewelry, journals and paper mache figures.
