"Bunny Nest with Red Flowers and White Butterflies", new from my studio

"Bunny Nest with Red Flowers and White Butterflies"

This is part of a series of bunnies taking naps.

For this one, I had in mind a child's room. The parents are trying to get their little one off to sleep and point to the bunny on the wall: "See how that bunny is sleeping and smiling because he is having a happy dream?" Hint, hint ...

These parents don't really like the usual decor of bright neon colors that a lot of children's rooms have. They want something more subtle, more in the tradition of the Renaissance, or older English illustrations for children's books. So they pick this piece for their child's room.

Or this piece because it's even more subtle:

an idea for framing:

this one is around 11" x 14" with a MQ9 frame found under silver frames (in drop-down)
and a mat that is arctic white with black core mat (in drop-down)

I tend to think people are attracted to artwork sometimes through the symbolism (subconsciously), and this piece has a lot of positives in that department:

* white bunny: new perceptions and manifestations; signifies something at work for the highest good
* white butterflies: protection, fortune, messages from the spirit world
* vines: continuity, traditions in ones life
* red tulip-like flowers with thorns: true love, eternal love, undying love, yet with a few protective measures
* small yellow flowers: happiness in the small things, friendship
* purple daisies: dignity, pride, success
* bountiful fauna: material well being

Here's another piece along the same lines (with all of the same kinds of products):

If you have been following along, I have a show of original pieces up. In the meantime, I thought I would make some of the items in the show available as archival prints and other products.

Here is how the original art piece looks (note: the frame is a little cockeyed in the photo, but not in real life -- it was how it looked on a wall for the photo shoot):

Millefleurs Triptych (with Unicorn) in a variety of prints and products

Millefleurs Triptych with Unicorn, Cranes, Rabbits and Dove
available HERE for sale
I tell how to customize below
(please note: the prints are in a limited edition and I will still be honoring the limited edition whether my real or digital signature is on the print. The limited edition is 1,020).

This piece is from 2014 and you can read about it on my other post, but for the sake of this post, I am going to tell you how you can get various possibilities in my shop with some framing and home decor.

Here is another possibility:

CUSTOMIZING IT:
Here is how to do it:
On the right, click on prints, and then find framed prints.
Alternatively, go HERE where the framed prints are
click the arrow where it says framed prints on the right hand side
Then you'll see a tab come up just underneath it
You'll see a bunch of tabs running underneath the "framed prints"
(and underneath the tab, you'll see the framing possibilities --
note: the frame defaults to a black frame -- yuck, but you can change that)
Anyway, up where the tabs are, click on 1. for the size print you want.
Then click on 2. for the frame.
You'll notice right before all the little square pictures of frames, you can choose a frame color.
*The first one is in the gold section (click on PAZ2 on the top row).
*The second one is in the gold section too (click on PAZ2 right next to it).
Then click on 3. for a mat color
*The first one is "Chinese red matte" which is the near the last row.
(note there is also one called Chinese Matte" that doesn't look quite right, and they are next to each other, so be aware of that)
*The second one is "sandstone matte" -- kind of in the middle of the swatches
After you are done with that, click on 4.
I usually go for the Somerset Velvet. It has the best picture quality for my taste,
but if you want to save money and it is going in an area where sun will hit it part of the day,
or in a bedroom, then the archival matte paper is fine.

Here are some pillow possibilities using the same kinds of sliders and swatches
(pillows here):

This one is R(125), G(8), B(8)

This one is R(29) G(83) B(29)
or #1d531d

This one is R(217) G(94) B(106)
or #d95e6a

There are also cell phone covers and tote bags as part of the listing
again, all products available for this listing here

Millefleurs Triptych with Unicorn, Cranes, Rabbits and Dove

Name of art piece: "Millefleurs Triptych with Unicorn, Cranes, Rabbits and Dove"
size: 13" x 10" on 14" x 11" paper
printed on archival paper
artwork © 2014 by Lise Winne
AVAILABLE THROUGH MY ARTFIRE ON-LINE SHOP HERE

Note: the copyright watermark does not appear in any purchased versions of this print.

This piece is a Renaissance-inspired artwork and inspired by (and in the tradition of) the Renaissance Unicorn tapestries. Here is one instance of one of the pieces done during the Renaissance.

This print is also available in a framed version at Valley Artisans Market. The original is going to be hung in a new gallery I was admitted into. More information on that coming soon. If you have an Etsy account, it may be available there as well, though I am featuring rotating themes, and there is less likelihood of it being there than in my Artfire shop (which has the advantage of a guest check-out if you don't want to join as an Artfire patron).

Symbolism:
The crane is a symbol for longevity, a youthful appearance, a happy and successful marriage as well as an omen of protection.
The unicorn is a symbol for purity, the mystical and divine, the spiritual, healing sorrows of the heart, healing toxicities in the body and banishing poisons in ones life whether they be emotional, spiritual or physical.
Rabbits are a symbol of femininity, abundance and luck. They are also a symbol of fear (of tragedy and disaster).
The dove is a symbol of peace, hope and messages from the spirit. They sometimes refer to pacifism and passive resistance too.

Here are some of the details of the piece:

Bunny and Moon ACEOs

"Bunny and Moon" original painting ACEO (2.5" x 3.5")
© 2012
available in my Etsy shop in the ACEO section
or in my Artfire shop in the ACEO section

here is another aceo:

"Bunny and Moon II" original painting ACEO (2.5" x 3.5")
© 2012
available in my Etsy shop in the ACEO section

As stated, these are both original paintings and will probably be the only ACEOs made in this subject matter. They are incredibly fussy and require tiny "liner" brushes. We'll see...

ACEOs have to conform to the 2.5" x 3.5" size format. For more on ACEOs, see this wikipedia article HERE.

These are part of a series of "bunny and moon" art pieces. The whole series can be found HERE.

They are painted with acrylic paints (gesso first, then the acrylic paints, then polyurethane). These particular ones were painted on bristol board.

Bunny Inside Egg, new Easter design

"Bunny Inside Egg"
new Easter card design
© 2012

Sometimes after I draw things, they take on a new meaning, become alive in my mind, sometimes entering my consciousness for days afterward. After I drew the "Bunny and Moon" tag design (viewable HERE on my blog), I've been waking up in the middle of the night for months dreaming about a bunny coming out behind the brush to look at the moon and wondering what it is!

Am I the only one who goes through this?

I don't know what to say about this beyond what I've said except I am reminded that there are other living beings sharing the same planet, looking at the same moon. It's not a wholly human world we live in and I am grateful for that. Bunnies are particularly innocent creatures, wonderfully soft and picked on by carnivores. In this phase of my art career, I have become entranced by them, so the newest bunny above is not just about Easter; it was an excuse to create another rabbit.

The card design is available year-round in my Artfire shop and seasonally through my Etsy shop

Angel Bliss of Music from the Ethereal Realms

Angel Bliss of Music
from the Ethereal Realms
© 2011
(you may have to click on the image to see all of the details)

This piece is again inspired by Bliss McIntosh's corn husk and milkweed winged angels. Bliss's work is viewable HERE.

I am on a roll. I made Angel Penelope of the Grain first (which you can view from this blog post). This is the second in the series.

I will have her available as a print and as greeting cards in my Artfire and Etsy shops as well as at a number of galleries and gift shops in my area (and, yes, she will be available at the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Center's 2011 holiday show). Look for her in the next couple of days.

Fuchsia Egg with Bunny

© 2011

This is probably the last Easter design of the year and is available through my Artfire on-line shop in packages of 3 cards each (it can be ordered in different quantities; just read the directions on the listing description).

The original design is 10.5" x 15" and I have saved it in this size just in case someone wants a full print of it.

I have a lot of easter designs in stock where rabbits have full features, so I decided that this one could be featureless, like a flash of lightening leaping across the suspended egg.
