Red Christmas Star with Dove and other holiday cards for 2014

Red Christmas Star with Dove
© 2014

available for sale in my Artfire on-line store HERE

I made a bunch of holiday card designs this year. This is one I made that is for sale on-line as well as selected brick and mortar stores.

The next is one I made is available at some brick and mortar shops this year as small 3 x 5 cards, but I ran out of them for my on-line store. I may have them available (fingers crossed) for on-line purchase sometime in December, so check back in my Artfire Christmas Card Category HERE if you are crazy about them and want a pack.

Angel Lisa and her Thoughts

available for sale in some selected brick and mortar shops
contact me at sales(att)LiseWinne.com if interested

The original, a mini drawing, is for sale on-line, however, but is slightly different in coloring (more blues) with a different title:

Lisa, the Healing Angel
© 2014
size: 3,5" x 4.25" mini drawing

available for sale in my Artfire on-line store HERE

This was all part of a series. Lisa, the Healing Angel was the largest.

Some of the rest of the series follow. These are all super-minis with the tiniest being Angel Denise at 1.75" x 2.5" and the largest being Angel Sally at 2.5" x 4.25":

Eliza, the Heart Angel is available for sale as an original already matted at Valley Artisans Market (a gallery/gift shop in upstate, NY)

This next piece can either be a Christmas or NewYear's design (people are now buying them for both occasions in the holiday art shops I am in). I have them in all sizes of greeting cards, from minis to 5 x 7s. In my on-line store, for the moment, I've listed 5 x 7s in a pack. However, if you want more or less than that, contact me through my Artfire on-line store.

Large Ceramic Angel Pendant

Large Ceramic Angel Pendant
reversible
wheel thrown stoneware, fired at cone 10
(available for sale HERE)

This is how it looks on its side:

This is the angel on the other side:

These pieces are part of a series. This is the third in the series.

I started these pieces as a way to use clay that I trim off when I am throwing pots (the pots also have these kinds of angels in them). Since I like a packed kiln, I wanted miniature pieces to fit around the pottery. These worked nicely for that! They save fuel, they save clay, they offer an unusual product (I hope!) and maybe they even bless the kiln and its contents (?).

I hope you've enjoyed my latest offering.

mini drawings: a tree hearts an angel; another tree hearts a celestial body

1 ULTRA ORIGINAL MINI DRAWING (left) AND ONE ORIGINAL DRAWING ACEO

(the mini on the left is 1.5" x 14.25"; with border: 1.75" x 4.5")

(read here what aceos are: basically mini works of art 2.5" x 3.5"; this one includes a border)

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:
left: Angel in a Tree (available for sale HERE)
right: A Tree Hearts a Celestial Body (available for sale HERE)

If you have an Etsy account, you can also check HERE to see if they are available on the Etsy venue

Background on these pieces:
These are all originals (not prints) drawn with fine points.
- All are drawn with india ink.
These are part of a new series (still doing more in the series, so check back if interested).
The series is viewable HERE from my website.
Aceos and other miniature artworks became popular on E-Bay because of the affordability. They became available on other selling venes too (particularly art and handmade venues).

P.S. My first day back to work after a long hiatus! Maybe my life is back to normal again?

angel box

Angel Box
one of a kind, hand painted
(for jewelry, ornaments or trinkets)
available through my Etsy on-line store here
or through my Artfire on-line store here

Here 2 other views of the box:

If you haven't been following along, this box was painted in the winter of 2011 during my "paint everything in sight" phase. The other trinket boxes painted during this time are HERE.

I have done many angel figures in this kind of style for many years on my hand thrown pottery, tote bags, tee shirts and hand embroidered items and I thought I would try one in paint on a box. I do like the way it comes out on pottery and embroidered items best (hard to paint so small as the top of the box was only 3"!). If I ever do another one, I'll do it on a bigger surface.

Here are some pots I made (for comparison):

Angel Stephanie Celebrates Spring

Angel Stephanie Celebrates Spring
© 2004
available on-line as a greeting card through my Artfire shop through this link
(may also be available through my Etsy shop in season)
copyright watermarks will not appear in actual cards

This is an old piece from 2004 (printed for the first time as a greeting card; previously only available as a large giclee print). This was done during a time when my main art medium was pottery (I was also performing concerts a lot more back then too).

(you may have to click on the image to see all of the details)

This piece is again inspired by Bliss McIntosh's corn husk and milkweed winged angels. Bliss's work is viewable HERE.

I am on a roll. I made Angel Penelope of the Grain first (which you can view from this blog post). This is the second in the series.

I will have her available as a print and as greeting cards in my Artfire and Etsy shops as well as at a number of galleries and gift shops in my area (and, yes, she will be available at the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Center's 2011 holiday show). Look for her in the next couple of days.

Angel Penelope of the Grain

Angel Penelope of the Grain
(after Bliss McIntosh's corn husk and milkweed winged angels)
© 2011

Available on-line HERE. She may also be available as a print soon and via my ETSY SHOP during the holidays.

Here is a blurry photo of my inspiration:

Corn Husk and Milkweed Winged Angel holding a trumpet by Bliss McIntosh
(find more of her work HERE)

As it turns out, we are sharing space in a gallery (Valley Artisans Market) for the holiday season and probably beyond (perhaps until next summer). Thus began the inspiration to do some work based on her pieces.

And as it turns out (to my delightful discovery upon finishing this piece) the face of the angel looks a lot like Lisa Lynne! Check it out:

face of Angel Penelope

Lisa plays the harp (as well as a variety of exotic instruments) and she has produced many, many CDs of enchanting music. The horn that the angel plays might just fit in with the rest of her collection. Check out Lisa Lynne's website HERE.

I have been inspired by Bliss before. Here is a piece from 2004:

When I was zooming in on the grain part while designing "Angel Penelope of the Grain", I was struck by how many bugs were clinging to it (hope you'll be able to detect them in the pictures on this blog). All the bugs are captured in the final piece, though it is harder to see them than in these photos. Anyway, here they are:

FUN!

Angel Carrie Celebrates Life

note: copyright watermarks do not appear in actual piece.

I have a lot of new work to post, but in the meantime I am posting this older piece because I started to make some smaller prints of her.

She is part of a limited edition of 95.

The big 18" x 24" prints have been popular and make a bigger impact (especially when viewing in person as opposed to on-line), but I thought I'd try some smaller ones too at the end of the run of 95.

The smaller prints are up for sale for the first time at my Etsy on-line store (12/16/11 edit: they are also available at my Artfire on-line store).
